On The Painting Desk: Blood Bowl II- Electric Boogaloo!

I had 7 new Blood Bowl teams to paint and all year to do it, so naturally I painted them all in a matter of days!  I started with the Chaos Goat Herders, Skaven Cheez-Ballers, and the Ork Skulsmash Reeverz.  With the momentum built up, I just kept going, night after night.  I didn't expect to nearly get this far.... but there you go.  This is more painting than I got done all of last year and it is still January!

Today, we are going to look at the rest of my teams.  They will be the Human team from the Box Set, the Dwarf team, the Dark Elf team, and the Elf Union team.  I also have an Ogre to add.  So, let's get into this....

Dwarf Rock-N-Rollers
This was the next team I started painting.  I started with the Troll Slayers as I wanted to make sure my flesh color would last through the team.  I though it was running low.  Thankfully, it lasted long enough to get the job done.  I knew traditionally Troll Slayers all had orange-Hair, but I wanted to be able to distinguish them on the field.  Therefore, the second one I went with a grey look.

I am not exactly sure where the green and grey color scheme came from.... but there it is.  I think it turned out okay.  My Blitzers were actually the last models I painted for this team.  I tended to paint them 2 positionals at a time, and three lineman at a time.

The Slayers and Blockers had enough alternate heads that I could tell them apart easily.  However,t he Runners and Blockers all had doppleganger sculpts.  To help tell them apart on the field I went with alternating Helmet colors.  One set of guys all had Grey Helmets while their twin had green helmets.  A simple and easy solution to tell them apart on the field but still fit in with the team color scheme.

There is the full Dwarf Rock-N-Roller team in all their glory.  Deciding the beard colors was one of the most fun parts of the team.  I used a soft tone wash to give them a less "gribbly" look than the Skaven and Ork teams.

Human Nottingham Nobles
The next team I *ahem* tackled was the Nottingham Nobles.  The astute reader will notice that they are all named after the G.W. Designer staff back when the Dev Team were mini-gaming celebrities and Games Workshop used a more "Cult-esque" marketing strategy like the one used by Apple.

Unlike the Dwarf team, I sat down and panted half the team all at once.  I decided to go with a Purple and White scheme.  Purple is the color of royalty, and with a name like the Nobles you were saying you were a cut above.  However, I also used this color scheme as if masked my own local NFL team.

To differentiate the players in the same pose, I again went with an alternating color scheme using white shoulder and knee pads instead of the purple ones.  Of note, this team is almost complete painted using cheap acrylic paint from a big box retailer using brushes from said retailer.  I then washed them all with Army Painter soft tone.

I really enjoyed choosing the colors for the Blood Bowl balls on this team.  I have no idea why but it was a chance to throw in some off-the-wall colors from the rest of the team.

Dark Elf Black Guards
I picked up this team while traveling and was really excited to put it together and try it out.  However, they were not assembled in time for the Princess Owayonna Tournament.  I had a vision of what I wanted to do with this team's paint scheme early on.  I wanted Dark Blue pads, very pale skin, and a purple wash.

I actually painted the Blockers first.  I can't call them lineman, because there are two ladies in their midst.  I decided to differentiate the players with different color Cold One hides and a small shoulder ribbon of different colors.

Then I tackled the positional players.  I am not a fan of the Runner sculpts, but they turned out pretty neat once painted.  I think the purple skins turned out better than the green, but there you go.  Again, i mostly painted these with the cheap big box acrylic paints.  I was growing more confident in what they could do and didn't even bother to water them down at all.  They take a tad longer to dry, but I think the results turned out just fine.  Plus, the price was right and I had easy access to a large selection.

I really enjoyed painting the Lilac hair on the Witch Elf.  It is not as striking as the red, but I really like how it turned out.

Ogre Blocker
I remember it was getting late, but I was on a roll!  I had just painted the Black Guards and wanted to keep going.  It was the perfect time to start on the Ogre.  I decided I wanted him to look different enough from each team that he looked like a hired thug just added to the roster so I could move him about as needed.  I wanted to give him a mix of metal armors.  I settled on jumpsuit Orange as his main uniform color to add to the thug look.

I actually painted his teeth brown instead of a whiter color so they would look gnarled and rotted.  A simple but effective paint job mostly using block colors and a quick Dark Tone wash to pull out the details.

Elf Union Superiors
The final team was the Elf Union team.  I have never really played any elf teams in the past and was interested in getting this guys painted and on the field.  I also bought these guys while traveling.  However, they were the last team I bought.

I started out with the Blockers and I knew I wanted Green and white somehow.  For some unknown reason, I started by painting their leggings a Lime green, the brightest green I had.  From there I went to an evergreen for the pads.  I did not know how it was going to come out and I was a bit nervous.  I was again using the cheap craft paints and these colors required a few coats to get the right coverage.  They were a bit thin.

The new sculptors did a great job on the athletic shoes most of the Blood Bowl models are wearing.  I just wish my painting skills could have made better use of the detail on the shoes.  I could imagine the players hawking contracts for their shoes on Cabal Vision, they were that detailed.  For the Elf team I went with white shoes, white ribbons, and white loin clothes.  The loin clothes were not fun to paint.  You will notice this team also uses a mix of male and female blockers.

The positional players were next.  Again, their hair and the Blood Bowl balls were fun to paint since they gave me a chance to break the scheme up.  For one of the throwers, I decided to go with pink tips on his white hair.  I really wanted him to stand out as a bit of a showboat.  I also tried to use more Blonde hair on this team than any of the other teams, but I really like the way the red-hair on the blocker turned out.  A soft Tone wash from army painter was again used after blocking the main colors with cheap craft paint.

My last Blood Bowl team was painted up.  I will probably add two more teams to my league, but I am going to wait for the Lizardmen and Chaos Dwarf teams.  Nurgle's Rotters and the Undead team just don't do that much for me.  However, my family may feel differently when they go the FLGS so we will see.

With all my Blood Bowl models done I painted more int eh first month of 2019 than all year for 2018.  A good start.  I went down to my stash and started digging around for what else I had to paint, but didn't find much. I checked my Hobby Cash stash, it it was looking a little low, so I will have to wait before I can get new Plastic, Metal, or Resin dudes to paint.  Try to self-fund my hobby from Wargame sales is hard!

*Shameless Plug* If you want to help me out, go to the Wargame Vault Blood and Spectacles page, and pick-up some games.  You can even pay what you want for them!*

Thanks for looking.  I can;t wait to get these guys on the pitch in 2019.  I am very curious to see how these Elf teams play.

Blood Bowl: Princess Owayanna Tournament Report- Dwarfs vs. Chaos

Lord Summervale: Welcome Blood Bowl fans and devout followers of Nuffle! This is Cabalvision IV's coverage of the semi-final match in the Princess Owayana Bottled Healing Spring Waters Touranment. Today we have a classic match-up between the Dwarf Rock-N-Rollerz and the Chaos Goat Herders.

The Dwarf Rock-N-Rollerz beat the experienced GridironGravedigggers, another Chaos Team, to advance in the play-offs. Meanwhile, the Chaos Goat Herderz dismantled the Skaven Cheez-Ballerz to advance to this round of the tournament.

Mad Johan: Rock-N-Rollers team captain Harry Harryson agrees. I got a chance to sit down with him and talk about today's game.....

Harry Harryson: Stupid, filthy scum. That said, you have to be wary of scum. It can stick to your boots and make you slip on the astro-granite.

Lord Summervale: Well, it sounds like he didn't have much nice to say about his opponents.

Mad Johan: Even though both of these teams are new to the Deep North League- Southern Regional Conference they have some sort of rivalry going. Winston Azhander, the lead blocker for the Goat Herders also shared some thoughts with me.....

Winston Azhander: …. kill, maim, crush. Kill, maim, crush.... I'm sorry. Did you ask me something?

Lord Summervale: Well, it sounds like he understands the fundamentals of Blood Bowl to me.

Mad Johan: Azhander was a one man wrecking crew along with the beastman Murder against the Cheez-Ballerz. It will be interesting to see if he and his team mates can keep it up against a much tougher Dwarf team.

Lord Summervale: Well, Asquith Kneecapper the Goat Herder captain has gone to the center of the pitch, as has Harry Harryson. They have exchanged the customary pre-game handshake, after the grot ref bent over to act as a stool for the dwarf. It looks like the Goat Herders have won the toss, and they have elected to get the ball first.

Mad Johan: As the two teams take the field, Strom Rocksmelter was questionable for this game, but he is in for the Rock-N-Rollers.

Lord Summervale: The beastman Murder is in the Goat Herders back field ready to receive the ball. Boom! There is the kick! As the ball is in the air, the Dwarf team quickly re-sets their formation. It looks like they are going to make a play on the near side.

Mad Johan: It looks like a planned maneuver as the kick is short on the near side, giving the Dwarves a chance to get there quick.

Lord Summervale: Murder retrieves the ball and the Chaos team quickly makes a cage of runners around him to protect him. At the line, the Chosen have begun to push the Dwarfs back.

Mad Johan: Led by Crazy Ivan the Dwarfs go to work starting to dismantle the cage.

Lord Summervale: Gore is able to sprint ahead and open a lane by taking out Roz Shaft, the Dwarf Blitzer. Murder has ducked around and looks like he might have found a gap in the Dwarf line play.

The Dwarf team tries to close the gap, but the Goat Herders are not making it easy. However, the gap seems to be closing.

Mad Johan: A nice block by Crazy Ivan allows Ferro Ironbreaker to smack down Murder and send the ball loose!

Lord Summervale: There is a mad scrum for the ball, and somehow the beastman Arson bounce out of the pile-up with it and circles around to open field.

Mad Johan: Brisbane Skullthumper lays a powerful block up field to try and clear a lane for Arson.

Lord Summervale: Mad Oleg managed to lay a hand on Arson, but it isn't enough to bring the Beastman down.

Mad Johan: Grafitti lays Mad Oleg out for his trouble!

Lord Summervale: I'm not sure what exactly happened, but Asquith Kneecapper goes down and out on the far side of the field. That leaves a couple of Dwarf Blockers undefended. They have a beeline on Arson the ball carrier.

Strom Rocksmelter and Drago Earthenwall pound Arson into the dirt and the ball pops-up. However, Brisbane Skullthumper brings it down in his hands! He manages to dodge away from three Dwarf defenders and barrel his way into the end zone for a touchdown!

Mad Johan: I thought the Rock-N-Rollers had this one handled. I guess I was wrong!

Lord Summervale: The Rock-N-Rollers don't have much time on the clock, but look like they are going to the near side. Both runners are in and ready to receive the kick. Boom!

Mad Johan: Oh no, the Dwarf fans look particularly unhappy with how the game is going. They have surged over the fences and are heading straight for the two teams! The chaos fans are happily jumping in and joining them!

Lord Summervale: The pitch is flooded by fans and players alike all hitting, scratching, kicking, and biting. Things are completely out of hand here in the Chaos Wastes. We are going to cut to commercial until this mess gets cleaned up!

** ** ** ** ** **

Lord Summervale: Thanks for rejoining us here in the Chaos Wastes. The fans of the Rock-N-Rollers and the Chaos Goat Herders just stormed the field. It took about 30 minutes to get it all cleared up, and the game is back on.

Mad Johan: This looks like the Rock-N-Rollers chance since most of the Chaos team is down! Will there be enough time to score?

Lord Summervale: Harry Harryson picks up the ball and crosses the line of scrimmage. However, he ssems to get tripped up on debris on the field from the pitch invasion and tumbles to the ground, with the ball going loose.

Harry Harryson picks himself up. A block from Ferro Ironbreaker spring shim and he makes for the end zone. However, he runs far short as time runs out for the first half.

Mad Johan: This game has been hard hitting so far. I thought the Rock-N-Rollers had them all bottled up, but it just goes to show that fortuen sometimes carries the day.

Lord Summervale: It's not over yet Johan. The second half the Rock-N-Rollers start with the ball.

Now, I will send you back to the Cabalvision IV studio for an update on what is going on around the Olde World. Remeber, today's coverage is brought to you by Guillotine Razors, head and maybe shoulders above the rest.

** ** ** ** **

Lord Summervale: Welcome back to the scond half of the semi-final Princess Owayana Healing Spring Bottled Water Tournament between the Dwarf Roc-N-Rollers and the Chaos Goat Herders here in the Chaos Wastes. So far, the Goat Herders are up by 1, but the Rock-N-Rollers will start the half with the ball.

Mad Johan: Again, the Dwarf team is going with both runners on the field and Drago Earthenwall in reserve.

Lord Summervale: The Goat Herders are also going with a different formation and have put their Chosen out wide, and letting the beastmen man the line.

Boom! There goes the kick. It looks like another short kick to the far side of the field. It lands in front of Ferro Ironbreaker. The Dwarf line starts pushing on the Chaos team and forces them back from scrimmage. The Dwarf offense looks to be focusing on the far side.

Mad Johan: The two lines are just pounding on each other, and it doesn't look like the Dwarfs are making much headway!

Lord Summervale: Some tough blocking up front has allowed the two Runners through the gap.

Mad Johan: A hard hit at the line by Igneous sends Payne the beastman to the Dug-out.

Lord Summervale: Gore lowers his horns and knocks the ball away from Harry Harryson. It is a loose ball on the Chaos side of the field. However, Murder runs up and manages to recover it and dodge away from Papa Kasr.

Mad Johan: In the scrum at the line, Arson sends Alexi Bridgekeeper off to the dug-out. Line play has been the key to this game so far.

Lord Summervale: Murder looks like he is going to swing around the near side, but Igneous Stonebreaker has some other ideas and puts the hit on the Beastman runner. The ball again flies loose! In the scrum for the ball, it looks like the Roc-N-Rollers may have recovered.

Mad Johan: It is too early to tell.

Lord Summervale: You are right as the ball is still bouncing around between players like a cat with it's tail on fire!

Mad Johan: Pow! A huge hit by Mad Oleg sends Asquith Kneecapper off to the apothecary! He is going to feel that in the morning! That is going on my tournament highlight reel!

Lord Summervale: Harry Harryson somehow ends up with the ball and trudges towards the end zone. However, he is blitzed from behind by Murder and sent sprawling. The ball comes loose again, but a second Beastman fails to recover it. This time it is even deeper in Chaos territory.

Mad Johan: I can't help but think it is now or never for the Rock-N-Rollers.

Lord Summervale: Papa Kasr gets the ball and is supported by several of his team mates as they go against two defenders. The Goal line is very close.

Mad Johan: Oh no, Mad Oleg in his frenzied state completely misses his block and goes down!

Lord Summervale: Malice dodges away from Harry Harryson, and lays a powerful block on Papa Kasr and sends the ball loose once more! Murder flattens Igneous Rocksplitter and sends him to the dug-out.

Mad Johan: It has all gone pear-shaped for the Rock-N-Rollers!

Lord Summervale: With that phenomenal goal line stand, the Chaos Goat Herders beat the Dwarf Rock-N-Rollers as the half comes to an end. What a disheartening loss for the Dwarf team! They were so close to tying it up.

Mad Johan: It just goes to show how every play counts. If Mad Oleg would not have missed his assignment, we would be going to overtime right now.

Lord Summervale: Indeed! Our sideline grot is reporting in on the condition of Asquith Kneecapper, the Chaos Goat Herders team capatin who left the game with an injury late in the second half. Sounds like he was badly hurt, but the chaos sorcerers claim he will be back in time for the finals!

Mad Johan: I am sure the Goat Herder fans are glad to hear that! Meanwhile, let's talk about the Roc-N-Roller MVPs for this game. Sure, they lost but it wasn't for a lack of effort. I think you have to look at Igneous Stonebreaker for being involved in many of the Swarf key plays, Ferro Ironbreaker for some big hits, and Mad Oleg who was critical in the last derive, even if he ended up blowing the game. Despite the disappointing finish, I am choosing Mad Oleg. He had a good game with only one bad play.

Lord Summervale: I believe he was also the MVP in the qualifying round against the Gridiron Gravediggers.

Mad Johan: Sounds like he is on his way to be a star of the Blood Bowl pitch.... if he doesn't get himself killed first.

Lord Summervale: How about on the Chaos side of the ball today?

Mad Johan: Good question. The Rock-N-Rollers did a good job containing Winston Azhander today, but I have to nominate Brisbane Skullthumper for a surprisingly acrobatic touchdown, Murder the Beastman for his sure hands, and Arson who had some impressive ball handling skills. However, I am going with Murder again this game. He was a key part of this win!

Lord Summervale: That leaves the Skaven Rat Packers to go head-to-head against the Chaos Goat Herders in the championship match in the Princess Owayana Healing Spring Bottled Water Tournament. I look forward to seeing you there Johan, as well as all of you at home!

That wraps up today's Cabalvision IV coverage of the Deep North Legion- Southern Regional conference during the Princess Owayana tournament. Remember, Princess Owayana Healing Spring Bottled Water; it cures what ails ya.

This is Lord Summervale and mad Johan signing off!

Blood Bowl: Princess Owayanna Tournament Report- Dwarfs vs. Chaos

Lord Summervale: Warm wishes from the Chaos Wastes as Mad Johan and myself bring you coverage of the Princess Owayanna Bottled Healing Water Tournament for Cabalvision IV. You will be watching coverage of the tournaments first round play between the Gridiron Gravediggers fromt the Chaos Wastes and the Dwarf Rock-N-Rollers.

Mad Johan: The Gridiron Gravediggers are the oldest deep of the Deep North League- Southern Regional Conference, but they have gone through a lot of changes over the years.

Lord Summervale: This year, they are entering the season in a rebuilding year as they have lost their crowd favorite Minotaur in the off-season.

Mad Johan: I saw his picture when I was eating breakfast this morning... on the side of my milk carton. Hopefully, he will turn up safe and sound.

Lord Summervale: Indeed. This Dwarf team has taken on some hard-hitting teams in the past and I don't expect them to back down from the challenge today. Team captain and runner Harry Harryson had this to say....

Harry Harryson: Ack... I have heard all my life that this Chaos Warriors think they are some 'ard blokes. Let's see how they fare against some rock 'ard competition.

Mad Johan: He sounds confident, but in the pre-season they only managed to tie the Skulsmash Reeverz. Not exactly a rock solid record.

Lord Summervale: Despite the tie, they did go yard-for-yard and hit-for-hit against a hard hitting opponent.

Mad Johan: I guess. This conference is pretty bashy with an Ork, two Chaos, and a Khemri team. I guess we will see if they measure up to the competition.

Lord Summervale: Lord Graf the Unpleasant of the Gravediggers and Harry Harryson of the Rock-N-Rollers have come out for the coin toss. They start the pre-game handshake, but it soon diverges into an arm-wrestling competition before refs can separate them to get down to business.

The coin is up, and the Dwarfs win the toss. Lord Graf makes some crack about Dwarf-tossing and a brawl almost breaks out immediately. The refs manage to hold everything together long enough for the Dwarfs to decide to take the ball first.

With that, the kick is up. Boom!

Mad Johan: You would think that a bunch of beastmen could get a better kicker?

Lord Summervale: The kick is...erm....short?

Mad Johan: Now you're getting in on it too!

Lord Summervale: A missed block up front by Crazy Ivan opens a gap and lets Goat Boy Lif and Ug Da' Natural to dive deep into the backfield of the Rock-N-Rollers early. However, Ferro Ironbreaker picks up the oncoming rush with a punishing hit on Goatboy. This allows Harry Harryson to make for a small gap in the Chaos line.

Mad Johan: Another big collision! This time between Krong and Mad Oleg, makes that gap even possible.

Lord Summervale: There is some jostling up front, and Grrrra manages to come around the wing and blitz Harry Harryson from the back. Both go down, and the ball flies loose.

Mad Johan: Dwarf Blitzer Roz Shaft does his patented move, “Da Shaft” and sends Krong the Fister to the dug-outs for the rest of the game! Ouch!

Lord Summervale: Dwarf Blocker Brock Rocksolid manages to haul in the ball from a bounce, K.O.ing the Beastman Lothar in the process! The Rock-N-Rollers go to work and bash the line of scrimmage wide open!

Mad Johan: Oh, well it looks like Evig managed to dodge around Ferro Ironbreaker, and blitz Brock Rocksolid in the back!

Lord Summervale: Another mad scrum for the ball has broken out.

Mad Johan: Another crushing hit between Mad Oleg and Killa da Kind sends the beastman to the dug out. Then, on the other side of the pitch, Crazy Ivan sends Goatboy Lif to the dug-out! The Rock-N-Rollers are thinning out this Chaos team pretty fast!

Lord Summervale: The ball exchanges hands pretty fast and dirty as it bounces around. However, Kronk the Beastman rolls out holding the ball. He tries to toss it down field to Grrra, but the beastman receiver drops the ball.

Mad Johan: That gives the Chaos defense a bit of breathing room considering they are down 4 players right now.

Lord Summervale: Harry Harryson drops back and gets the ball, but Kronk blitz him and the ball is loose again.

Mad Johan: The cold weather here in the Chaos Wastes seems to be making this ball hard to hold on to!

Lord Summervale: As the clock ticks down, both teams just start to ignore the ball and instead just start pushing each other around. As the half ends, the ball is just sitting there on the line of scrimmage with no one paying any attention to it.

Mad Johan: The Gridiron Gravediggers probably want some payback after losing 4 guys to the box! But, if you want to win the game and advance in the Tournament, you have to score some points.

Lord Summervale: Indeed! Well, as we go into the half we will return you to the Cabalvision IV studios for a look at games around the Olde World and a word or three from our sponsors. The score here in the Chaos Wastes is still 0-0.
** ** ** ** **

Lord Summervale: Welcome back to today's Princess Owayanna Healing Bottled Water tournament game between the Gridiron Gravediggers from the Chaos Wastes and the Dwarf Rock-N-Rollers. We are still all tied up at 0-0, but the Gravediggers are going to receive this half.

Mad Johan: Well, what is left of them anyway. 3 Beastman and 1 Warrior are still in the dug-out. However, their back-up Beastman Ench Varner has taken the field. They need all the help they can get!

Lord Summervale: The kick is up..... and the Dwarf team goes to work right away! The ball lands close to the sidelines, but the closest player is a rushing Dwarf Blocker! The Gravediggers will have to move fast!

The Beastman Evig scoots over and collects the ball while Grrra takes out the oncoming Dwarf blocker.

Mad Johan: It looks like the Chaos Warriors, Lord Graf and Uckleif are making a gap in the center of the Dwarf line.

Lord Summervale: Despite the Rock-N-Rollers moving up to fill it, the Gridiron Gravediggers bash it open and Evig manages to race through. It is up to Harry Harryson to stop the Chaos drive in a 1-on-1 situation!

Mad Johan: You call that a hit! It was more like a love tap from Harry!

Lord Summervale: Perhaps, but it gives the rest of the Rock-N-Rollers time to get back and contain the threat. This time, Harry finished his man.... errr.... Beastman.... as he lays out Evig and forces him to cough up the ball.

Ferro Ironbreaker if there to scoop up the ball and head towards the end zone. It doesn't look like the Gravediggers have anything left to stop them with.

Mad Johan: Mad Oleg just put Kronk in the crowd and cleared the way for Ironbreaker to run it in!

Lord Summervale: Indeed! And that is what happens. Ferro Ironbreaker runs it into the end zone huffing and puffing. However, that puts his team in the lead!

Mad Johan: Thankfully, Killa Da' Kind comes out of the K.O.ed box for the Gravediggers. However, this team is in a tight spot. They are down by one, and are not exactly known for their quick strike ability!

Lord Summervale: The two teams line up for the kick-off. Boom! It is up and Ench Varner is back to receive it.

Mad Johan: What! Someone from the stands just hit Ench Varner with a rock! Down he goes!

Lord Summervale: That was unexepcted! The Chaos Warriors on the line try to punch through, and make a gap. However, a missed block by Evig allows a Dwarf blocker through to Ug Da' Natural who has the ball. However, he stiff arms the blocker away and stays upright.

Mad Johan: The Rock-N-Rollers were ready for this play and quickly sealed the hole back up.

Lord Summervale: This time, two Dwarfs get to Ug, and he goes down and the ball comes loose.

Mad Johan: Beastman #10.... Lothar.... shows a bit of life and smashes Rocksmelter into the turf. The meat wagon will have to collect him after that hit!

Lord Summervale: Ench Varner recovers enough and tries to get the ball again, but fumbles it.

With that, time runs down as the two teams push and shove at each other. The Dwarf Rock-N-Rollers have beaten the Gridiron Gravediggers 1-0. The Gravediggers have been eliminated from the tournament.

Mad Johan: Thankfully, we are all ready in the Chaos Wastes and they won't have far to go!

Lord Summervale: The Rock-N-Rollers have now joined the Nottingham Nobles and the Da' Rat Packers in the semi-final round. However, their opponent will be the winner of the Chaos Goat Herders vs. the Skaven Cheez-Ballerz which is still to be played.

Mad Johan: Neither team played particularly well with a lot of fumbling and blown assignments. However, the Rock-N-Rollers made fewer mistakes and frankly I was surprised at how rusty the Gridiron Gravediggers looked.

Lord Summervale: True, but who do you think the respective MVPs were for this match?

Mad Johan: Well, Ferro Ironbreaker needs to be considered for recovering the ball and running downfield to score, but ultimately it was Mad Oleg who allowed him to break loose with a great down field block that sent a Chaos defender into the crowd. Mad Oleg is my Rock-N-Roller MVP this match.

The Gravedigger MVP is a bit harder. I'm going Lothar as he was the only Chaos player that seemed to show any inclination to do what Chaos players do best. Hurt people.

Lord Summervale: The injury report is coming in now from our sideline Grots. That hit from Lothar injured Strom Rocksmelter's back, that will probably effect him the rest of his career. Krong the Fister and Ug Da' Natural will be back next game as he was only badly hurt. Meanwhile, it sounds like the mortician has been summoned for Killa Da' Kind.

Mad Johan: Ouch! Well, at least they will eat well tonight.

Lord Summervale: That wraps up tonight's coverage of the Princess Owayanna Healing Bottled Water Tournament. The Dwarf Rock-N-Rollers defeated the Gridiron Gravediggers 1-0. Today's match was sponsored by Princess Owayanna's Healing Bottled Water, it quenches your thirst and heals what ails ya'! This is Lord Summervale and Mad Johan signing off. Thanks for watching Cabalvision IV.

Blood Bowl: Match Report- Dwarf vs. Ork- Exhibition Play

Catastrophe! I had this report all written up as we played th4e game, but then I lost it do to being an idiot. Therefore, this match report will not be as detailed as some of the other Blood Bowl matches I have had. However, since it was the first use of my Dwarf team I figured I might as well try to put in some of the highlights.

* * * * * *

Lord Summervale: Welcome to the half-time report! Cabalvision IV's continuing coverage of the Deep North League continues as we take look at the Southern Regional Conference action. It is still pre-season as new teams enter the conference. Let's see how they stack up!

Mad Johan: After the loss of teams from last season due to contract disputes, attrition, murder, and jail sentences there has been an influx of new teams into the Southern Regional Conference.

Lord Summervale: Indeed. The three remaining teams are the Forever Jackals from Khemri, Skaven Da' Rat Packers, and fromt eh Chaos Wastes come the Gridiron Gravediggers. However, this season they are going to be joined by the expansion Nottingham Nobles human team, Ork Skulsmash Reeverz, Skaven Cheeze-Ballerz, Dwarf Rock-N-Rollers, and the Chaos Goat Herders.

Mad Johan: With so many inexperienced rookies, the casualties should be record setting this year!

Lord Summervale: The Skulsmash Reeverz under their Kaptin Grimgrod Rotgut clashed with the Dwarf Rock-N-Rollers earlier today. Here are the highlights of the match.

Mad Johan: With Dwarf teams the highlight reel is always short......

Lord Summervale: …. um, yeah.... moving on. The first half saw the Orks kick the Rock-N-Rollers into terrible field position. It took them half of the first half just to get to mid-field. Sadly, the Skulsmash Reeverz were there waiting for them. The Ork team smashed open the Dwarf cage and forced the ball loose.

It was a mad scrum, but eventually Kaptin Rotgut himself emerged with the ball. A short pass up the middle found the blitzer Ruk-Ruk. He hauled it in and that led to a score at the end of the first half. Things looked bad for the Rock-N-Rollers as they were down by 1 and kicking to the Orks.

Mad Johan: The Dwarf team made good use of sideline pushes to eliminate a few Ork players. The Slayers frenzy ability helped out.

Lord Summervale: In the second half, the Dwarf team had to act fast....

Mad Johan: …. which is really hard when you are a dwarf!

Lord Summervale: The opening kick was short, and a missed block up front left the Ork line open. A few dwarf blockers desperately trundle through and forced the ball loose from back-up Ork thrower Runthugga.

This also led to a scrum where possession went back and forth between the two teams. The Orks tried to throw it down field, but the Rock-N-Rollers were all over it and stuffed the receiver quickly.

Mad Johan: One of the great moments of Blood Bowl is watching dwarf blockers try to intercept a pass. Hilarious!

Lord Summervale: The Rock-N-Rollers managed to push the ball down the field as their line play began to tell on the Skulsmash Reeverz.

Mad Johan: This game featured some eye-popping hits between players that left players down across the board. I was shocked to see half of the Ork team knocked-out and in the dug-out at one point!

Lord Summervale: It was this punishment that allowed the Dwarf runner Harry Harrison finally cross into the end zone to tie up the game. The fans at Freeboota Field booed and hissed, but the refs let the score stand.

From there, the Orks did not have enough time to complete a scoring drive despite a successful pass down field. Time ran out.

Mad Johan: Since the refs were hungry, they decided to call the game a tie and go grab some grub. It was only pre-season. They were hangry so called the game despite the jeers of the crowd.

Lord Summervale: We will now return you to your regularly scheduled match after a word from our Sponsors; Guillotine Razors- Maybe the best a human can get! Thanks for tuning into Cabalvision IV. Nuffle be praised!
