As an older gamer, as I find my eye sight lessening and my hand not as steady, I have pretty much sold (and given away) my life long 28mm mini colection and moved firmly into 54mm (which is a real aesthetically pleasing and visual treat). Chose Men was a rule set of choice the moment I spied them: ideal for nice clunky solo gaming, and just what I was looking for. Not perfect, but they do just what it says on the tin. My only gripe (and a major one at that) is the ridiculously tiny wring. I can`t imagine what Osprey was thinking when they passed it... I`m serious, its far too small to read comfortably. But I like the system so much, I put up with it never the less :-)Stephen Gilberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01704275344468801259noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054986497992526061.post-32566377001827765502018-07-07T11:58:24.254-07:002018-07-07T11:58:24.254-07:00Hello, again thank you for this review, this is Wa...Hello, again thank you for this review, this is Warhammer Napoleonics, and I like what Mr. Latham did with obsolete Warhammer rules and also that he incorporate Command and Control a bit. Funy is, mostly you will not use two actions per turn as the most interesting Fire and Charge are full round actions.

What I hate are army lists. Not for just because of this or that unit is missing, but they are wrong on so many entries in my point of view. This is very often a huge issue of Osprey Games that they are edited here and there by writer and nobody double checks. There are two units, same stats totaly different point value. Some mechanics (Bayonet Drill, Deadly Accurate) are not included in the lists (or anywhere else on the pages) but are described in special rules. because I wanted to include some new units (Russians without dragoons, realy? :-D. I tried to identidy point-buy values for unit construction, and even if you find easily that the basic is French Line infantry you are unable to identify points because they differ unit per unit. As great fan of Rampant or IHMN series, I found it very strange.

Nevertheles we enjoyed the game as it returned us back to the years of WHFB with small armies and no shits like Alway Strike First, Horde, Pit of Shades etc. :-D

Dalcorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16886888566221538473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054986497992526061.post-18136353570611703682018-04-14T08:39:47.072-07:002018-04-14T08:39:47.072-07:00The artillery procedure is slightly different than...The artillery procedure is slightly different than you describe. The unit takes damage if the target marker HITS a model in the unit. Then additional damage is done to units hit by the grazing (bouncing) shot along the line of fire.Captain Nolanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12258683012806342747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054986497992526061.post-83822217794352950262018-03-16T11:34:45.573-07:002018-03-16T11:34:45.573-07:00Thank you for posting your thoughts on the rules!
...Thank you for posting your thoughts on the rules!
I am just about starting some skirmish-level naps up with a gaming buddy (we'll probably paint a handful of minis each and start out using Ganesha's SDS to get stuck in, as I happen to have had the rules for quite a while), and I am currently searching the web for reviews on various rules covering various 'levels' of engagement (from 'section' to 'company' sized skirmishes), so this is very helpful!Argonorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05019172583849638439noreply@blogger.com
